Guild Activity Wrapup

Posted by BumwallerNovember 11, 2008 at 3:15 pm
...or what the hell has Limited Warranty been doing lately?

Congrats to the following:
- Shmar on getting to 40, we knew you could do it!
- Greatjohn and Mishandala for gaining Swift Flight Form the hard way, they earned it not trained it
- Greatlohn for picking up Inscription and making us glyphs
- All those who maxed out Shattered Sun and Aldor/Scryer reputation to get the goodies they offered
- Everyone who has been working on the various achievements to pass the time

Welcome, or welcome back, and hopefully we will see more:
- Outs
- Vezak
- Skippyrufus
- Bading

And the fun we had with dungeons in the past few weeks:
- Marv the Gorilla main-tanking Shattered Halls , that was a blast
- Ariki, Claz, Mishandala, Okole, Salistora and Vezak on the Onyxia kill
- Everyone who participated in the Leeeeroy! Achievement in UBRS and the failed attempt at BWL

If I left anything out - abuse me in the forums, I am getting old and the memory is fading. Let's head on out to Northrend and have some new adventures!

Echoes of DOOM

Posted by BumwallerOctober 13, 2008 at 11:14 am

The 3.0.2 patch "Echoes of Doom" is set for release on October 14th.  There will be an extended maintenance period of 12 hours on the day from 2:00 AM to 2:00 PM PDT.  After the patch I would like to get some guild runs together to test out new specs and abilities.

Wrath of the Lich King release

Posted by BumwallerSeptember 15, 2008 at 1:32 pm
Confirmed - This has been confirmed by Blizzard at their site.

A number of usually reliable sources are reporting (with huge graphical ads on the front page) that the release date for Lich King will be November 13, 2008. WoWHead and Thottbot both are showing the ad as the basis for their homepages.

I am shocked at the announcement, not because of the date which we all seemed to think would be around that time, but because I expected this announcement at Blizzcon. So now what is the big thing at Blizzcon? An announcement about something new maybe?

I guess now will be the time for me to grind out some rep and collect recipes and finish leveling up my tradeskills. I don't see the point in trying to collect gear that will probably be replaced by questing, and I don't raid much so I don't worry about the tier tokens.

We should also get a big content patch in before Wrath, so probably early to mid October, that will revamp our talent trees and refund all talent points. That will take so trial and error to get a spec that I want to go into Wrath with on two different toons. We have discussed maybe doing some Shadow Labs or Magisters Terrace runs with new specs to see how things are looking and where we might need to make changes. That should give us someting to do to fill our idle hours.

I'm still torn over whether to try to get the epic flyer for the Shaman or wait until I can use it in Northrend. We'll see how much I want to fly fast as I do dailies over the next 2 months.

Guild Status - Update

Posted by BumwallerJune 15, 2008 at 7:11 pm
My stance is pretty clear, and the co-leaders agree - we will not be pushing toward 25-man content. I have recently come to realized that I am not a "hardcore" raider, I'm a "casual" raider or instancer or quester or whatever. I get more enjoyment out of the game by being social with other players while leveling and grouping up when it is appropriate.

If any of you feel you need to move on to other more progression oriented guilds, I want you to know that I support you. Just make sure you leave on good terms. Be upfront about your intentions and if you need a healer or whatever, give me a shout - I might be able to fill in where needed and will be willing to do that if it fits my schedule and I believe some of the others might too.

I will NOT be disbanding the guild, so if you decide to leave and want to leave your alts here that would be great.  I do enjoy chatting with all of you guys and have been happy to meet you in game.  The guild will be around as long as I am playing on Vashj.

I intend to get back into 10-man raids when Wrath of the Lich King is released and will recruit when that time comes.  I am hopeful that some of you will came back to join us for that content.

Curator finally beaten

The Curator surronded by Limited Warranty

Finally we got past the Curator, seems like we were beating our heads against the wall on that one. But, we prevailed and Claz picked up the first piece of Tier 4 armor earned by the guild. Congratulations to all of you that have participated in the runs up to this point. We are continuing on our way and continue to improve our skills and collect that purple loot. For those of you who aren't joining us in Kara - work on those getting those keys and gear and we'll get you in the runs when we have a spot.

We went to Karazhan...UPDATED

Posted by BumwallerFebruary 23, 2008 at 1:06 pm
On the 2/22 run we went and downed the Huntsman and his pony and Moroes and his party guests and ran into troubles on the Maiden.  We went back in on 2/24 and downed Maiden of Virtue and the Wizard of Oz event at the Opera. Overall it was a good weekend of runs - we learned the positioning and worked pretty good with each other. Looking forward to the next attempts and some more nice shiny purple loot.  Check the Gallery for pics.

More Attunement, and a welcome

Congrats go out to Evolve, Kariki, Bading, Skippyrufus, and Tandiya on getting attuned for Karazhan and obtaining the Master's Key. A good night of work for all involved.

Also - a welcome to the guild for Bigbluedruid, he finally took the plunge and became a full member of the guild. His presence will definately be an asset as we move forward with our progression.

Everything seems to be falling into place to make a great Karazhan raiding team.

Karazhan Run is a GO!

Posted by BumwallerFebruary 15, 2008 at 11:49 am
Yes - that's right we will be entering the tower for the first time as a guild on 2/22/08. Please get your consumables ready, that includes potions, elixirs, water, food, reagents, etc. Get a treatmeter and install it BEFORE we go so you can get used to it. If you pull aggro from Ariki and Pyro in this place you WILL be dead. If you need something, ask the guild if they can help you, but do it early so people have time to get the mats if needed.

Read up on the first few fights and know what you are supposed to do. There will be no shame in wiping, it will be the first time in for most of us, but please know what you are supposed to be doing.
